Fall Guys will join Fortnite maker as Epic Games acquires Tonic Games Group

Epic Games announced Tuesday that it acquired the parent company behind popular indie game, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. It declined to share how much it paid.
Epic will acquire Tonic Games Group, the company that owns Mediatonic Games, an indie studio based in the United Kingdom that released Fall Guys last summer to massive, almost immediate success. The game sold more than 7 million copies on Steam and an undisclosed number on PlayStation within a few weeks of release. The game is coming to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox this summer.

Just after 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, Brittany Gosney and her boyfriend walked into a police station in Middletown, Ohio, with disturbing news: Gosney s 6-year-old son, James Hutchinson, was missing. Middletown police immediately began searching, posting pleas for help and images of the red-haired child in black frame glasses.
But Gosney, 29, and her boyfriend, 42-year-old James Hamilton, were lying, police said on Monday.
In fact, Gosney had run over her son in a park days earlier after trying to abandon him there, according to police. And then she and Hamilton allegedly threw his body into the Ohio River.

D.C. United is close to reacquiring Argentine midfielder Lucas Rodríguez after a one-year absence, people close to the discussions said Tuesday.
In 2019, his only season with Washington, Rodríguez, 23, had six goals and three assists as a full-time starter and scored the team s only playoff goal. His loan from Argentine club Estudiantes expired after the season, and the sides were unable to reach an agreement on a loan extension or a permanent transfer.

A Moroccan landscape painted by Winston Churchill and owned by Angelina Jolie sold at auction on Monday for more than $15.86 million, smashing the previous record for a work by Britain s World War II leader.
Tower of the Koutoubia Mosque sold at Christie s in London for £8,285,000 ($15.86m). The pre-sale estimate was £1.5m to £2.5m, and the previous record price for a Churchill painting was just under £1.8m.

Auckland s largest real estate agency s sales volumes hit a 17-year record and more than half the places it sold last month were for $1 million or more.
Peter Thompson, Barfoot & Thompson managing director, said: In February we sold 1124 properties and you have to go back 17 years to find a February when we sold more homes.
As well, 56 per cent of the homes sold in the month went for $1m or more, whereas last year, that category was only 40 per cent of monthly sales, he said.
